My hot water service stopped working on Good Friday. I rang Dave and he was helpful over the phone and agreed to come out Easter Saturday when he could procure a new hot water service. He arrived on time and did a great job with no hastle. He also fixed some small issues created by another plumber. Do you have a call out fee?
No we do not have a call out fee, we just have a flat hourly rate.
Do you charge for quotes?
No, we do not charge for quotes.
Why does my bathroom or toilet or laundry smell like sewer?
Generally a bathroom will smell like sewer because the water in one of the drains has evaporated allowing the sewer smells to escape through that drain. By simply pouring a jug of water down the drain, it will resolve the smell.
Why does Fair trading need to be involved in my renovation?
Fair Trading get involved to make sure that all parts of the plumbing for a new home or extension are carried out correctly. Unfortunately there are people out there that don't follow the guidelines.
They are also the government agency that collects and stores all the plumbing plans and drawings for your new home or extension.
How do I get Gas to my house?
The easiest way to get gas to your house is to call your current electricity supplier as they usually supply gas as well. They will inform you if there is natural gas in your street. If there is no natural gas in your street the other option is to have LPG gas system installed which Dave's Plumbing & Gas can organise.
Can I connect my BBQ up to my natural gas system?
You can purchase a Natural Gas BBQ however if your existing BBQ is LPG most BBQ's can be converted to natural gas with the purchase of changeover kit and the expertise of a plumber. Please do not do this yourself. It can be deadly if done incorrectly.
My toilet gurgles when I flush it?
If your toilet is gurgling, you more than likely have a sewer blockage issue.
This can be resolved by running a high pressure water machine down your sewer line to clear through the blockage and help your system work better. If the problem is tree roots, they will grow back and the only way to fix the issue permanently is to replace the damaged section of pipe.
